Stakeholder meeting regarding the European WindScanner Facility Preparatory Phase Project on 22 April 2013 from 10.30 to 16.00 in Amsterdam.

The overall purpose of this meeting was to involve stakeholders in the preparatory phase of the project and raise awareness of this new European research infrastructure. At the meeting visions and objectives for the European WindScanner Facility were presented. It was also discussed which kind of infrastructure services the WindScanner is able to provide to the European wind sector.

The project is still in an early stage but with this stakeholder meeting the Windscanner group would like to involve the stakeholders and future users as early as possible so that stakeholders can give input on how we can develop an European Research Infrastructure that will be of added value to a broad set of European researchers and companies working in the area of remote sensing, wind conditions, siting and resources assessment. The stakeholder meeting put focus on the need for supporting the development of the equipment and. Ideas on how to use the WindScanners once in operation were also discussed.
